Founded on the site of an old cotton mill from 1785 and converted into a distillery in 1966, Deanston — located in the southern Highlands — is now considered one of Scotland’s most fascinating distilleries. A symbol of the industrious spirit of a small community, Deanston has always embodied the ambition to stand out for the quality of its products.
A range of single malt whiskies characterized by the use of:
– very light water from the River Teith flowing over granite bedrock;
– local unpeated Laureate/Concerto quality barley (2 PPM);
– long fermentations of up to 100 hours;
– stills with narrow, ascending necks to enhance copper contact;
– 30,000 ex-bourbon casks in the original vaulted warehouses, unique for their temperature and humidity conditions and ideal for aging.
